In this part of the world it is
considered a ground for complaint
if a man's writings admit more than
one interpretation.

Thoreau

come walk with me....

Consider the work as separate from the man.
After the pen leaves the paper, the words
take on a life of their own. They are a poem.
As such, they do not invite justification by
the author. They merely used him as their
instrument by which to achieve life.

If you have questions, ask the poem.
They are no longer a part of the man.
For they will live on though he will die.

Heaven and earth will pass away;
my words will never pass away.
